Wiki.js

The most powerful and extensible open source Wiki software

What is Wiki.js?

Wiki.js is a powerful and extensible open source wiki software built on Node.js. It features a beautiful interface, markdown support, and extensive customization options.

Key Features

  • Markdown and WYSIWYG editors
  • Full-text search
  • Multiple storage backends
  • Diagram support (Mermaid, PlantUML)
  • LDAP/OAuth authentication
  • Localization (50+ languages)
  • Custom themes

Deployment on Moltern

Wiki.js can be deployed on Moltern with a single click. Moltern handles:

  • Automatic SSL/TLS certificates via Let's Encrypt
  • Automatic PostgreSQL provisioning and database wiring
  • Persistent storage for Wiki.js data
  • Environment configuration for the runtime
  • Container orchestration with automatic restarts

Initial Setup

Wiki.js opens its setup wizard on first launch. Moltern already provides the PostgreSQL connection, so create the first administrator in the wizard and complete the site settings. No manual database credentials are required.

Getting Started

  1. Navigate to the Services page in Moltern
  2. Search for "Wiki.js"
  3. Click Deploy
  4. Access your instance via the provided URL
  5. Complete the setup wizard and create the first administrator

Configuration

After deployment, configure Wiki.js through its web interface. If the setup page briefly reports a database connection issue, wait for the auto-provisioned PostgreSQL dependency to finish starting and refresh the page.
